Presentations!
I believe Zeke has volunteered to go first.
You'll have 5-10 minutes to finish your presentations, then we will finish section 3 in your textbook from yesterday and move onto section 4.
Today, I'm going to give you 15 minutes to work on your presentations and then we will move onto the next section about the Greeks in your textbook (134-139). You need to do questions 2-5 on page 139.
Today we are going to continue with the discussion of Greece and begin projects. You have the following choices:
1) City States:
Athens (Jake)
Sparta (Zeke and Ethan)
Thebes (Leo)
Corinth (Royce)
Delphi (Sam)
Syracuse (Camden)
Rhodes (Brenden)
Minoans (Seth)
For the city states you will need to create a slide presentation with 1) Location; 2) Type of Government; 3) Famous individuals and/or leaders; 4) Brief History; and 5) Patron Gods. You will need at least one slide for each point and at least five visuals that relate to the city state.
2) Philosophers (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle) - LINA
Make sure you give a bio for each one. List their major teachings with some quotations from them. Discuss their importance in Greek society. List famous pupils.
For Plato make sure you discuss "The Allegory of the Cave"
You will need at least two slides per person and five visuals.
3) Famous Playwrights (Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, Aeschylus)
Make sure you give a bio for each one. List their major works with some quotations from them. Discuss their importance in Greek society and in the world today.
You will need at least six slides and five visuals.
4) Famous Poets (Homer, Sappho) - GWEN
Make sure you give a bio for each one. List their major works with some quotations from them. Give a brief overview of the Iliad and the Odyssey. Discuss their importance in Greek society.
You will need at least slides and five visuals.
5) Leaders - choose four or five
Make sure you give a bio for each one. List their major accomplishments. Discuss their importance in Greek society.
Presentations will be on Friday and on Monday.
We are going to continue with Greece and look at section 3 of chapter 5. Note, I have a take home quiz for you. If I'm not in class please read pages 134-139 and do questions 2-7 on page 139.
THURSDAY: we will go over your quizzes and look at Unit 2 and chapter 5.
FRIDAY: read pages 127-133 in your textbooks and do questions 2-8 on page 133.

Today we will be playing a review game and looking at some handouts on Ancient China. Please read the packets and answer the questions.
Today, we are going to look at the section of chapter 4 on the Persians and answer questions 2-5.
Today, I'm going to break you into groups and have you read "The Assyrian Empire" on page 95.
You will need to do questions 2-5 pn page 98.
When you are done, you do have an Edpuzzle to work on for homework.
Today we will be going over your quizzes from last Friday, and then we will move onto chapter 4 section 1. HW: questions 3-5.
Today we are going to review Judaism and the Phoenicians and a few other things. We are also going to look at some study questions in the book page 84 questions 9-18 and discuss tomorrow's quiz.
Today we are going to go over your note guides from yesterday and look at the next two sections of your textbook (Seafaring Traders and Judaism). Note, you will probably have a quiz on chapter 3 on Friday.

Today, we are going finish the chapter Buddhism and Hinduism.You will then be given an outline guide which you will need to fill out (you can work with a partner) by using either your textbook, outline research, or prior knowledge.
HW: questions 2-4 on page 71.
Today we are going to here your presentations. Please take notes while the other groups present. Make you get the information down. If you missed something ask the group to repeat it. Everyone has an outline.
When we finished we will be moving onto the next chapter in the textbook.
